Overview of the Project

The primary aim of this research project is to examine the validity of three common activity monitors to assess energy expenditure (EE) among manual wheelchair users with SCI during varying modes and intensities of physical activity. This will be conducted by comparing outputs of these devices with metabolic data on the targeted physical activities. We will also explore building EE predictive equations for manual wheelchair users with SCI based on the three activity monitors for different physical activities
