Picture of William J. Schiller
William J. Schiller, Ph.D., is an instructional psychologist and behavior analyst who is clinical assistant professor and assistant director of graduate studies in the Department of Disability and Human Development. Dr. Schiller has been Associate Director of RecTech for the past five years and has done extensive work with instructional technology since the 1980s when he studied application of the PLATO system to teaching persons with cognitive impairments. He is also Associate Director of the National Center on Physical Activity and Disability (NCPAD) in which role he manages all technology-related aspects of this national information center. Dr. Schiller has over 30 years experience in the disability field, including teaching graduate level courses, developing multimedia and online distance education courses, developing instructional packages for outreach training, and creating behavioral support systems for people with disabilities. His current research interests are in the use of active video games to promote greater participation in and adherence to physical activity.

Dr. Schiller is associate project director on the RecTech Wiki proposal (D5), and provides oversight for the RERC Training activities as well as technical support to the Technical Assistance and Dissemination activities in relation to the RERC website and electronic publications.
