Michael Scott, Ph.D., is Associate Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering and Adjunct Associate Professor of Bioengineering at UIC. His research interests are in theory and methods for engineering design, universal design, and interdisciplinary product development. Professor Scott served as project director for the earlier RecTech development project to develop adapter kits to make Life Fitness cardiovascular exercise equipment accessible to wheelchair users. He is the project director on development project D3, Universal Design of Cardiovascular and Strength Fitness Equipment to Provide Effective Upper Body Exercise.
